RECIPE:
Spaghetti
Pomodoro - Spaghetti with Tomato sauce

INGREDIENT:
400 grams of Spaghetti or
if you like the thinner ones then buy Capellini, 400 grams of tomatoes
diced (easy to use: Tomatoes peeled in a can), 2 garlic cloves,
minced, 1 onion, diced, 2 tablespoons olive oil, oregano and basil
chopped, a pinch of sugar, salt and pepper to taste. Parmesan Cheese.
DIRECTION:
Simmer the onions with the
garlic in olive oil until the onions become transparent, then add the
tomatoes plus the oregano and basil and a pinch of sugar, simmer for 10
more minutes, then add salt and pepper to taste and serve over the
spaghetti or capellini that are cooked in salt water until they are al
dente ( al dente: pasta that has been cooked so as to be firm but not
hard, so it has a slight bite to it.) Top this dish with freshly grated
Parmesan cheese.
Optional: This Tomato sauce can have many variations and may be
enriched with other vegetables like for example celery or carrots and
goes also well with a variety of poultry dishes.
Recommended Wine: A nice Merlot or Chianti.
