Goulash Soup - Magyar Gulyas

INGREDIENTS: 250 grams of
boneless beef chuck, cut
into 1/2" cubes, 250 grams of potatoes, 50 grams of onions, 1 garlic
clove, minced, 50 grams of butter, 2 tomatoes, 1 green bell pepper, 4
grams of paprika, cumin seeds, marjoram, salt and pepper to taste.
DIRECTION:
Simmer the chopped onions in the butter add the meat cut in cubes plus
paprika, a little salt, marjoram and the ground cumin seeds and let it
simmer for about 20 minutes in its own juices. Now add the tomatoes and
the bell peppers cut in cubes and once in a while a few soup spoons of
water until the meat is 3/4 done, now add the cut in cubes potatoes and
add round about 1 liter of water and let it
simmer on low heat until
everything is well cooked. Total cooking time is about 2 hours.
Serve hot with fresh country style bread. |
