RECIPE:
Belszinszeletek - Budapest Steak or Hungarian Style Meat with Onions

INGREDIENT:
4 steaks of tenderloin meat, 2 chopped
onions, 200 grams potatoes cut in slices, 400 grams of tomatoes cut in
cubes, 200 grams of colored bell peppers cut in stripes, 5dl sunflower
oil, 1 tbsp paprika, 1 salt and pepper to taste, 1 garlic
tab. pressed, some freshly chopped mixed garden herbs and 2 dl clear
meat bouillon.
DIRECTION:
Sauté
meat on both for a minute then take them out of the pan and place it in
a large pan and simmer with the meat bouillon on low heat. Sauté the onions
the pan where the meat was first sautéed, then add the potatoes and
later the bell
peppers. Season with salt, pepper, garlic and paprika, then add this mix
to the meat in the large pan and keep it
simmering till the meat is
tender then add the tomatoes and last
season
with the garden herbs.
NOTES: Serve with country style bread
and a good red Hungarian Wine if available, or if not, a nice French
wine like a Beaujolais for example.
